each child a success

5 ways to help children like themselves;

  1. Encourage children.  Recognize children’s accomplishments, responsibilities, and good actions throughout the day.
  2. Take their ideas, emotions, and feelings seriously.   Don’t belittle them by saying “don’t cry”,  “you’ll grow out of it”,  or “it’s not as bad as you think”.   Encourage children to tell you how they feel.
  3. Allow children to help clearly define limits and rules, and be consistent with enforcing them.   Do allow leeway for children within these limits, but be consistent when guiding children through the rules.  Make sure children can expect to be safe and receive kind actions.
  4. Be a good role model.  Let children know that you feel good about yourself.   Also, let them see that you too can make mistakes and can learn from them.
  5. Teach children  how to deal with time and money.     Help them spend time wisely and budget money carefully.

the praying heart

The heart that prays soars high on strong, glad wings,  and finds strange rest beyond the strife of things;  the heart that prays in trusting self-surrender  finds Christ’s own peace and life’s eternal splendor.

Through prayer God breathes His secret to the heart;

Speak to Him often in the busy mart,  or call Him in the deep of sorrow’s night;

His love floods in with healing, guiding light.

ouTta focus…

…its so easy for me to start focusing on stuff that hasn’t even happened yet.   for instance, lack of funds has caused schools to shut down.   will this effect my job in some way?    well.  i hope not.    too easy to fall into “what’s next?”  … afterall, if i really REALLY think about it, this job practically fell in my lap to begin with!   i did not have to go looking for this job…nope… it was in God’s hands to begin with.     so, i tell myself to hang in there…don’t give up.    if God brought me this far~will he also let me drown??  … I don’t think soo.    I will place my trust in HIM.   In his promises.

As it says in the Word… And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.   phillippians 4:19

And~ You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You,  because he trusts in You.  Isaiah 26:3

Another promise~ “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.”  John 14:1

are you worried too, about something that hasn’t happened yet?    instead of worry…let your focus be on God’s promises.   He will see you and I through.   Don’t give up!

not all lemon’s are bad..

Especially when its used in a recipe! 🙂   We got to sample this at the store, I don’t usually like the taste of lemons in my recipes but this one is excellent!  Try it you might like it.

Lemon Dijon Chicken

Ingredients: 2 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves

1/4 fresh lime juice

1/2 fresh lemon juice

4 Tbsp. Dijon mustard

1/2 tsp. ground black pepper

Creole-style seasoning, to taste

1 Tbsp. Extra Virgin Olive Oil

  • Pour olive oil in medium size skillet and add chicken.

Mix lime and lemon juice, and stir in mustard, pepper, and Creole seasoning.  Add mixture to skillet.

Cook, turning chicken occasionally, until the chicken pieces are done, about 12 – 15 minutes.

Enjoy!
